Possible Job in Midrand in South Africa (Gauteng) ?? need some info please..? |
Travel Info Yes, I've decided to pursue a life in South Africa. (Sorry to those who tell me i'm 'sticking my nose' into a country that need not be meddled in)The info was appreciated, and helped out.I do, however, have another question. I have applied for, and been contacted concerning a job at a hospital in Guateng (?) SA. I believe Guateng is the name of the location, although not positive. Any information concerning this location would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Travel Tips Midrand (previously Halfway House) is a town located in the Johannesburg conurbation in Gauteng Province, South Africa. The name comes from being half way between The Rand (Witwatersrand) and Pretoria. Midrand is in Region 2 of Johannesburg's administrative region plan. Is it built around the N1, and is home to Midrand Graduate Institute and UNISA's graduate School of Business Leadership. The city is relatively modern, having experienced much growth in the last decade. Many business have relocated there due to its proximity to good highway links and its location in the economic centre of Gauteng Province. Midrand's development has meant there is little break between the outskirts of Johannesburg and those of Pretoria, and the Gauteng Provincial Government envisages that, according to current growth trends, much of the province will be city by 2015. Midrand is also the location of the African Union's Pan-African Parliament. Other Travel Tips Gauteng is a province in south africa Midrand is one of the cities (they also call it the halfway house due to the fact that it is in the middle of Pretoria and Johannesburg the two big cities of Gauteng. Gauteng is the smallest province Thanks for deciding to come. I am glad that there are people -especially young ones - who cannot be dissuaded by people full of prejudice. The answerer before me is correct. I can just add that though Gauteng is the smallest of our provinces (states), it is the economic heart of the country and the most cosmopolitan. Thanks for deciding to come, it is a great country and you will love it. Midrand is not the most scenic place to stay, but it is between Pretoria and Johannesburg, so close to every possible amenity that you can want. Lots of acoomodation which for a person with dollars or pounds will be cheap. If you have any specific questions, pose them here and you will get lost of help.
