Im planning a trip to south africa towards the end of year can anyone recomend places to go?

Travel Info
any must see destinations? i'd like to do a group tour thing, anyone had any good or bad experiences there?

Travel Tips
You can try STA travel, they do group tours through different sides of SA, so you will pretty much see all you had in mind for SA.
Also contact the BazBus people, they have some great ideas and contacts.

I am South African, but these people know more about what the traveller looks for.

As for bad experiences, well, you get those everywhere in the world, I got them in England, Florida and Mozambique, but weren't enough to write home about. Just exercise common traveller caution and you will be fine, yes, even in SA.

Other Travel Tips
Kruger Park or Sabi Sabi for sure . Depends on where in South Africa you wish to go. Cape Town is beautiful, Robben Isalnd is a must see for sure. You might also want to check out the trains coming from Johannesburg to Cape Town, I think it's called the 'Blue ' Train.

The drive to Knysna is gorgeous too.

And you should go see the Jackass Penguins, not sure if that's Fishhoek or not.

Depends on how much money you have to spend. The tourist season is from the end of November , when the schools get out to mid January when the schools go back, so it's pretty pricey then but it's also summer.

I have been to South Africa mainly the western cape areas and just love it there.
You're going to be spoilt for choice!

It depends, if your the outdoors/nature lover type - I would suggest a visit to the Kruger National Park, visit the different falls in Mpumalanga and Gods Window, Camping in the Drakensberg and Diving at Sodwana Bay.
The Cape is really beautiful and if your the type of person who loves the nightlife, Capetown is a good base, since the surrounding area offers you everything from Game Parks, to visiting wine estates and a few good clubs. You can also visit Table Mountain and the Waterfront.
Go everywhere they recommend, as long as you don't miss out on Cape Town and the surrounding areas. Phenomenal
**The H is thinking Camps Bay and Table Mountain
