Are white charities inS Africa a way of bribing the Africans so that whites may stay in Africa? |
Travel Info It reminds me of mega-christian churches and corporations that "feed the poor" and try to win followers on that basis...eat and praise the lord, or die and remain true to your own religion. Is it or is it not a bribe? It appears as a deceit that is astonishing as much for its audacity as its depravity. Travel Tips There are people who would gladly engage you (either for or against your statements). While there's a general agreement that your style is aggressive (and mostly racist), I and some people here, agree with the context of some points you've been raising. Maybe you should tone down the aggression, without sacrificing the essence of your questions. For instance, in this question you raise a good point on "mega-Christian churches and corporations that feed the poor". I would agree that there's definitely a need to discuss that. It is more so because Christianity was used to rob natives of their land and self-respect. The natives were made to believe that they must forego their wealth in anticipation of everlasting life after death. This promise was by missionaries. They said this while they were amassing unsurpassed worldly wealth for themselves in the form of land and other goods. The church, especially, the Nederduitse Gereformeerde Kerk (NGK) actively promoted racial divisions through the political philosophy of apartheid. The church taught Blacks that the Afrikaners were God鈥檚 children and deserved all the good in this world and the promised heaven. By implication we were regarded illegitimate children of God. At the same time, the very same church (and its latest formations) was 鈥渓ooking after the poor Black鈥檚 material needs鈥? by providing soup kitchens etc. Access to that food was conditional to, among others, Black people (a) accepting that God wanted them to be poor; (b) that there was nothing wrong with apartheid system of governance; (c) that God planned the life and fate of each individual on earth and that Whites were his "chosen" children. And, yes, we were blackmailed 鈥渢o eat and praise the lord鈥? or reject apartheid, remain true to our own religion, die and miss heaven. Then entered the big corporations! They operated on similar principles, albeit without promise of heaven later. They promised to give us taste of good life 鈥?now, without us sharing in their tables. While most pay labour pittance, they started "social responsibility activities". These are used to dodge paying higher taxes and as a bribe for moral favours from the poor. I've had many experiences of such companies. That is disgustingly unacceptable. In this regard, I therefore concur. I however still don't agree with you on lumping Whites with collective guilt on these issues. There were/are many Whites out there who are no hypocrites and have genuine good intentions for South Africa. Maybe you'll soon find alternative ways of wording your questions. Others No. Some people actually CARE about the people around them and don't have any problems with race (like you, I daresay). Some people have the ability to close their eyes to something as unimportant as race, the thing that seems to be the only thing YOU ever care about when it concern other people. I would have to say it is a bribe and largely based on culture, not strictly speaking race. It requires more detailed review to reveal the correlation. Call it a human capital investment by the church in its future in a competitive world. Too little - too late. you dont beleive half the sh!t you type out do you? because if you do i really feel sorry for you. No why do we have do bribe them to stay in South-Africa It is our country just as much as it is their country. grow up you stupid ******** ********* ********* You are obviously not very religious. Not in the Christian sense. The christian charities always have a motive of converting the non-christians to christianity. It is proven again and again in every country from asia to africa. It is definitely a way of bribing. |
