Drive to NL or Fly to NL from Ontario?

Travel Info
We live in Ontario and I was wondering if driving or flying would be the cheapest alternative to going to NL this summer?
I not sure price on ferry and gas right now, car rentals for the week.

Travel Tips
Dollar for dollar, it is cheaper to drive. However, if you only have a week, then you should fly.

Driving (I've done it) takes about 21 hours from Toronto to North Sydney - straight through. Then you wait for the ferry, take the ferry, and in all likeliness you will be very tired when you hit the shore. In all, you are looking at a minimum of 2 full days of just travel. Tag that on either end of your week, and you get to visit NL for a whole 3 days. If you have more than a week - you are fine.

Ferry - You have to pre-book a spot on the ferrry (weeks before), and it is either $80 or $160 depending on which route you take (we went to Argentia). You cannot sleep in the car, you will need a berth or scramble for a cumfy chair when you get on board.

Driving - it's the only way to get around, and it is the best way to get around.
