This is for fun...if you have a high speed internet connection, (because it takes a few minutes to load) look at the pictures on the first link--that would be the ideal "up north" home. Ohhhhh to be there!!! 2nd link are some really nice pictures of my neck of the woods--the TWIN CITIES. Except when it's 20 below zero, it's a GREAT place to be! It is a great place with a population of about 110,000, no crime, three universities, mucho cultural events, and a burgeoning economy. I'd move back in a heart beat. If you like the urban lifestyle, choose the Twin Cities(Mpls. and St Paul). There is so much to do, quality of living is high, people are very friendly, lots of outdoor activities and things to do on the weekend. Minnesotans are the second healthiest people in the nation (next to Hawaii). If you want to be a little bit further north consider Duluth. Right on Lake Superior, very pretty! You should bear in mind it does get fairly cold and snowy up north. Minnesotans embrace the cold weather, even celebrate it . Winter Carnival in St. Paul is fabulous. Ice palace and all. Also, don't forget White Castle!!!! Yummy. Borna nd raised there!!!! Miss it still. Duluth Moorhead Twin Cities Mankato My family is from just over the border in North Dakota (Neche), I always loved that area, so I would suggest anywhere in the NE corner of the state of Minnesota. It's a beautiful area, if you like wide open prairies and the small farm town lifestyle. If you want the big city, you would be better off in Minni/St Paul. |
