Would like to hear pro and cons of camping tents, dome vs. pop-ups tents not travel trailer.? |
Travel Info up tents, not travel trailer. Travel Tips I have used all kinds of tents in my lifetime, dome tents have the quickest set up, but they do not do well in the wind. I have owned a pop up trailer, its a tent on wheels, you get the benefit of a sink, a/c, table, etc... but it is still canvas and you face the same issues with the elements like wet canvas, heat during the summer, the a/c wont do much in temps above 90. What you go with kinda depends on how often you go, we go once a month at least, we took the plunge and upgraded. As far as tents go, I liked the dome we had, I had to put extra tie downs on it when the wind was gonna be up, set up is easy on a dome and they are lightweigt and easy to carry. If you are considering pop up, check it very thouroughly, maybe even ask to try it out for a weekend. Others My favorites are the insta-set tents made by "Greatland." They aren't very easy to find anymore, but they're definitely worth the effort to look. Instead of having individual poles that have to be strung though the sides of the tent, the poles are built right in. All you have to do it bend them slightly and snap them in place. It only takes about 2-3 minutes to set the tent up compaired to about 20 with a standard pole tent. http://www.consumersearch.com/www/sports... |
