How would you dress in cold weather?

I'm going to St. Louis this winter, (I'm from Hawaii) how would I dress in 17 degree weather? Layers-wise.

thermal shirt, sweater, thick jacket, scarf, hat, thermal pants, jeans, boots and mittens.
Forget about layers. Get yourself a good down parka and you'll be all set.

umm go shoppig and find some warm jackets and things like down feathers they keep in heat very well
I would definitely layer cotton type fabrics that are breatheable and loose. For instance, a turtleneck with a sweatshirt over it, with a warm jacket and scarf if needed. Gloves and thick pants are important too. The best answer would be to wear a hat as well, but it depends on if you care about messing up your hair.
mm kay....here it goes......tanktop, long seleved tee, sweater, then a big coat, mittens, hat, and a scarf. then for my bottom half, shorts, leggings, then warm comfy pants. then big boots. i would also braid my hair so when it gets windy my hair doesnt fly all over, plus it uassually looks good when wearing a cute beeiny.
