What do yo kow about living in Dardenne Prairie, MO? |
Travel Info My husband seems to think Dardenne Prairie, MO would be a nice place to live. He's been up to visit the area and I have not. We have four small kids. Two are in school and I am a stay-at-home mom. Any comments on the area? Travel Tips It's nice, but traffic can be very annoying in the whole area. I consider Dardenne Prairie, O'Fallon, Weldon Springs, and St. Peters to be just one big town because they all bleed together to me. The area is fairly built up already and is continuing to grow. You have the Chocolate Cafe, plenty of good schools, the family arena, plenty of parks, Pizza stone, Stefaninas, La Chata, and easy access to grocery stores, movie theaters (The great escape), retail stores...pretty much whatever you need is right there except some decent Greek restaurants. And Chesterfield is a short ride away. http://www.dardenneprairie.org/... http://www.chocolatecafeandcoffeehouse.c... Others It used to be very nice when it was still prairie-like, you know, country. You could be out in the country and still be just a couple of miles from town. I moved out of O'Fallon (which is nearby) about 15 years ago, because it was starting it's giant commercial boom. I've never looked back. If you like stores and restaurants, it's great. Tax rate sucks, though. The last mayor of O'Fallon granted building permits and tax breaks to nearly any developer that knocked on the door--threw away a really nice place to live, and replaced it with cheaply-built housing, and any store you could want. Good luck. Traffic is a real hassle there. Too much development. I would recommend Eureka. Great schools and a small town atmosphere. It is on Interstate 44 about 20 miles from St. Louis. |
