"St. Louis" often refers to many different locations or neighborhoods. St. Louis county is comprised of many small towns, or "neighborhoods". All of which are often called St. Louis. St. Louis City is much smaller. For instance, Kirkwood is located in St. Louis County several miles west of the city limits. So like I said, It all depends on what part of town you're wanting to stay in. I-70 passes right through St. Louis City and County. Since it is a major artery, it has tons of hotels to choose from. I would stray away from anything in North St. Louis (known for violence). You might also want to avoid anything too close to the airport (because of noise). If you stay downtown it will cost more. I would try looking around Westport Plaza. It's pretty close to I-70 and has lots of hotels, both nice and economy. Plus, it has tons of clubs, bars, and restaurants (even a comedy club). Good luck. Interstate 70 is a major highway. You could just drive down the highway and find tons of hotels to choose from. Are you flying or driving in to St. Louis? Lambert Airport (the main StL airport) is right along 70, and there are many hotels just across the highway. That area (near the airport) isn't the best, but it's convenient. If driving in, there are many areas of St. Louis to choose from. If you want to stay near I 70, try some of the nicer hotels downtown, or further out west in St. Charles county there are many places to stay as well. The airport is just off 70 and has lots of hotels. It is a bit further than 3 miles but not much further. You can get downtown in 15 minutes. Both of those cities are along I-70 about 25 to 30 minutes west of downtown. If you're wanting to go east, there are a few places in Collinsville, IL that you might want to look at, too. |
