MO/IL Scenic Drives? |
Travel Info I am trying to travel alone for couple days around St. Louis in MO. Suggest some nice scenic drives, some places where I can drive and also stay during the nights, any fun around ...clubbing and stuff would be good too. Any suggestions please? Dont suggest So IL. I have already visited that part. Thanks, Travel Tips "Arcadia Valley, Missouri's Best Kept Secret" is what the bumper stickers say..... Elephant Rocks State Park Johnson Shut-ins Tom Sauk Mountain (highest point in the state) Mill Stream Gardens (Mo Whitewater Olympic trials site) Also in the area are St. Joe Park and Crown Valley Winery (Farmington, clubs nearby) Washington State Park (Southern Jefferson County, great hiking trails and hieroglyphics, rock formations) Good luck and have fun! :D Source(s): http://www.crownvalleywinery.com/farming... http://www.mostateparks.com/washington.h... http://www.visitmo.com/parks.cfm... http://www.riverfacts.com/rivers/11752.h... Other Travel Tips Why? East St Louis and vicinity looks like Hiroshima after the blast! It will be historic, like visiting Japan during WWII. It mo tiff is early bombed out. Try the Ozark Mountains. North from St Charles to Hannibal, MO. Nice drive. The only scenic areas to drive in IL are Shawnee National Forest and Great River road (towards Grafton)...so if you have already done that your pretty much done. Missouri...I suggest a trip out to Herman. Not much for "clubbing" but you have a nice drive and you can hit a few wineries in the area. They have a couple small travel motels as well as some B and Bs. There are some nice roads to drive in Southeastern Missouri, near the bootheel, but nothing I can suggest for an actual destination. |
