I just heard Missouri has a really good job market, should I move there?.? |
Travel Info Sometimes it's kind of hard to find a job in Georgia and the job market doesn't seem to be open all the time. I know you have to further education to go far, but what about people who aren't focus on that now. Is it better opportunity for those folk? thanks Travel Tips I think it depends on what you want to do. The St. Louis area in general is nice. Yeah we have a lot of murders in the city, but the suburbs are a nice place to live. If you do seek a job, travel here first to see if you like it. Also, if you move here try to live either 5-10 miles outside of St. Louis City in the County or in St. Charles and Lincoln Counties. Basically, the area is expanding rapidly, especially in St. Charles County and that might be your best bet. A lot of people from the high schools in St. Charles County don't go to college and have good jobs. Overall, research a little more, visit, and search for jobs. St. Louis is a great area to live in. Others I have problems finding a job in MO. Move to Phoenix or Las Vegas. Missouri won't be much better than Georgia. It also depends on what type of work you are looking for. It depends on if you are male of female and your age. More info please and I can help you! Georgia is going to have a much better job market than MO. Atlanta, Orlando and Las Vegas have the top 3 job markets in the country. It depends entirely on your field. The market is booming for certain kinds of workers here. And it's stagnant to non-existent for others. In this day and age you should be able to get a good sense of the market for your field in various locations by browsing the job websites... you might even be able to land a couple of interviews that way. Good luck. I did not have a college education when I started work here in MO and I had some great jobs that really allowed me to advance. They also supported me when I made the decision to get the degree. I can tell you that St. Louis has a lot of job opportunties. There are several major companies there and a few are fourtune 500. There are many places here that have entry level jobs with good pay. Places like Express Scripts, Magellan, United Healthcare, BCBS, Boeing, Drury Hotels....ect....There is always jobs fairs going on and these companies and more are always hiring. I know a few that will start you at $13-$17 depending on your WORK experience. Most of the companies here have great benefits, several will even help you pay for school should you decide that is what you want to do. Another good thing is that the cost of living here is way cheap. You get a lot of house/apartment for your buck! Also things like gas, water and electric are at or below the national average. Gas for your car well MO is one of the cheapest states. Something you need to look at while you might not make the same in salary you might save in the cost of living a lone. I would check out some of the above companies website, they have job listings and see if any are what you like to do. The will usually have some info about salary. Also if you contact the local chamber of commerce they can give you stats on the job market and average salary and income for the area. They are a really big help and they offer this free service. They will also help you with relocation and can send you a relocation packet for free. Good service contact them! Also check on Monster and Yahoo jobs I can usually find job listing for the area, might help you get an idea of what is out there! Hope this helps, good luck. I have lived in the MO for years |
