St.Louis is getting jipped!!!!! ( Not a question)?

Travel Info
I am from st.louis and it gets such a bad wrap from everyone because of this stupid crime rate S*** whenever I have never experienced any crime or anything but nice, hostile people.

Travel Tips
St Louis has some amazing attractions and some great areas that should make it a nice place to visit. But the atmosphere from the place is horrible. The feeling of racial tension from both blacks and whites gives the place a feeling that something will happen soon.

I've traveled all over the states and throughout Europe and the only place that comes near is certain parts of London.

My girlfriend lives in St Louis so I have spent more time in this American city then any other so it might just be that all American cities are this bad but so far I have only experienced it here.

Crime is everywhere but it does seem to be worse here, although less pick pockets. My girlfriend had a gun pulled on her because a man didn't want to queue up for gas and wanted to take her place, the gas station was only 2c cheaper than the one across the road. I appreciate that this is only one incident but I have heard of plenty more. I've even seen a large fight in Morgan street brewery.

you MUST be from the county..................CRACK HEADS EVERYWHERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!... Dont get wrong though the city is definately a cool place to live, just stay away from the crackies and hookers in certain areas.
Look at it this way, it keeps housing costs lower! The price of living in St. Louis is cheaper than California by far.
It's funny. I live downtown and most the crimes I've seen are from the "Counties" coming to the city to wreak havoc, then go back home to their County homes with white pickett fences and read about how STL is the most dangerous city.

STL isn't bad, at all. I've lived in Chicago and DC and they were MUCH worse. The only reason the crime numbers are "high" is because of the relatively small population the city actually houses.
I agree. I feel safer walking in downtown st. louis than in any other city i've visited. There are concentrated areas of violent crime, but overall st. louis is a great place to live. I've been to Chicago, New York, and D.C. all of which seemed to be less safe than St. Louis. I'm not sure, but I think that there is some sort of reason StL got that rating. The authors of the study even admitted that it was possibly flawed.
St Louis is probably no better or worse than any other city of that size in the US.
I'd bet on it.
Everybody's cities has hoes and crackheads now, don't even play. You can't avoid them. It's just that St. Louis is afraid to hide them. Just don't talk to them and it's all good. But St. Louis (and the metro-east) is a great city. And we have good food too!
