Travel Info What is the tallest building in Saint Louis? Some say it's the Gateway Arch and some say it isn't.? Travel Tips i know that what i am about to say is a fact.... The gateway arch is the tallest building in st. Louis city. when it was built, somebody in a high place wanted nothing in the city to be taller than it, so it is and always will be the tallest thing in st. Louis. sure some buildings come awfully close to tying the height but it does not beat it Others The Arch is approx. 616 ft high. I don't know for sure, but I would say the SBC building is the tallest Metropolitan Square building is the tallest building, but the Gateway Arch (a structure 630 feet tall) is about 37 feet taller than it. A city ordinance prohibits any building to be built taller than the Arch. it is the arch it's 630ft tall at the top but your only about 616 while your inside Arch is the tallest (by city design and ordinance) The tallest building downtown is One Bell Center it is the southwestern bell building. (i work there) Kelli may work at the Bell building, but she doesn't know much about the city she works in. The St. Louis Arch is the tallest building in downtown St. Louis. This is because when the Arch was built, the city decided that no other buildings in the city should be taller, taking away it's magnificance. The Bell Building may LOOK taller, but per city ordinance, it isn't. |
