Travel Info Whats it like to live in edmunson county st.louis? Travel Tips I used to live in Breckenridge which is right next to Edmundson. It is very close to the airport and gets loud. The ariport is really almost in Edmundson. Edmundson is located in St. Louis County about 10 min. or so from downtown. It is an older area and there are mainly old homes and apartments for rent. Some streets are very nice and others are well trashy. When I say that the homes are not taken care of ect....Breckenridge is the same way. St. Ann is right there and you can find some nice subdivions. Again they are mostly older homes. A lot of businesses have closed in this area, the grocery store moved to a biger location in St. Ann. However there are two other ones (shop and saves) there. If you have children the schools are not the best here. There have been tons of issues at the high school and some of the elementry schools have low testing. I would check out the cities website and get more info on the schools if you have kids, I might look in a different area. Overall all the cost of living is about the same with some of the other suburbs. The cost of living in MO is below the national average. Your electric is about $100 give or take some depends on the month and gas is about $150 again depends on weather and month. There are some other suburbs around that are close to Edmundson, you might try Maryland Heights, Hazelwood, Florissan, Ferguson. They are also are about 5-10min away gets you a little farther from the airport. Bridgeton can be nice to, and it is almost next door to Edmundson. Be sure to check out the local websites for the different counties the chamber will send you a free relocation packet that will have info on housing cost, schools, jobs, crime ect... This is a FREE service and is very helpful when picking a place to move. I did like Brenkenridge it was ok and I was a little younger then, the good thing is you are close to a lot of major highways and can get downtown fast...You can do this with some of the other suburbs too.
