Cape Girardeau to St. Louis? |
Travel Info I am trying to get from Cape Girardeau MO to St. Louis to take Amtrak, But I do not drive and I have looked around but not been able to find any way to get their. Does anyone know of anything? Travel Tips I don't think there is an Amtrak that runs that way. The bus would probably be your best bet. Others have you looked into greyhound buses? Cape Girardeau is one of the least accessible cities in America. While others have suggested Greyhound, for some bizarre reason they don't run a bus up I-55. You could probably get a local taxi or limo service to take you up to St. Louis, but that would cost a fortune. I'd suggest you either find a friend to drive you or go out to a truck stop and arrange a ride with a trucker. You might find it easier to get a ride to Carbondale, Illinois (which has an Amtrak station--though it would be an awkward connection to St. Louis from there) than to St. Louis itself. Closest places near Cape Girardeau to catch Amtrak were at one time Carbondale and Poplar Bluff -- all in the opposite direction from where you need to go. I am not sure Amtrak still stops in PB. I suggest taking a BART shuttle up to STL. Greyhound does do a pickup in Jackson -- but I am not sure where they connect with. I live in Scott City, just south of Cape, and I know that Amtrak doesn't have a shuttle down to Cape. I suggest going over to Carbondale or why not just hitch a ride with a friend who could go up there for a weekend and getaway. A bus is a possibility, but that isn't what I would choose to do. |
