Where can I find a cheap(no more than $1000), used car in pretty good condition?? If anyone is selling one in st.louis, MO please help! I'm not really picky on make/model/year etc. just need a car.

I would suggest checking local St. Louis Newspapers (I think the Post-Dispatch is the biggest) for classifieds. http://www.stltoday.com/classifieds... (St. Louis Post-Dispatch).

Also, most sites for buying cars, such as autotrader.com, allow you to search for cars in or around a specific city. Good luck!

I don't live there but try to stay away from mercury topaz, Ford tempo, and mercury sables. I have had all and they have nickel and dimed me with motors, transmissions, and things that are just cheap and easy to fix. When added up it comes out to be a lot. Try some of your dealerships you can sometimes get good deals on trade-ins on the back lot but they are usually in as in condition. Make sure you know what your looking at or take someone with you that does. Good luck
have you tried craigslist.org in your area? they may have something for you on there. the local auctions are always a place to find a diamond in the rough also. just make sure that you bid on something marked "dwls" , "dui" , "stolen recovery", or something like that. that would mean that the car was driving when they impounded it with the exception of the stolen one. you may be able to find a good one that needs little work for a great bargain. i once bought a 1982 honda prelude for twenty dollars. it had a dented front fender and the stereo was torn out. i put a can of gas in it and jumped the battery. drove it twenty miles home and sold it to a neighbor for five hundred and fifty dollars the same day. it is possible and i am a living witness.
Try the thrifty nickel, or St. Louis Post Dispatch. There is a website www.autoextra.com that I really like it has personal sellers too.
Stick with Weber,or Dave Sinclair. Stay away from lots on Kingshighway and Cahokia Illinois! Those cars are wore out,high mileage.
