St.louis is restoring downtown and city rapidly.? |
Travel Info St.louis is building 3 new high-rise residential, office, and retail buildings right behind busch stadium in the new ballpark village which includes many new entertainment and retail buildings. Also, the bottle district is building 3 new high-rise towers just north of the arch which will include many new condos and residential oppurtunities. Wealthy lofts are popping up everywhere in st.louis and the wealthy are returning from the suburbs. The new Pinnacle casino is also already under construction right next to the Edward Jones Dome in downtown St.louis. Travel Tips They have done this urban renewal in Milwaukee, Cleveland, and Chicago recently. Obviously, the mayors of these cities want the rich back in the city. It builds a nice local economy an adds appeal to the tourists. All 3 of these cities and now St. Louis were well overdue. A city should be a great gathering spot to live and work and play. Hopefully, the aspiring artisans will still be able to afford their city dwellings as well. Others cool i think i might go there. www.wowomg.com Cool! St Louis sucked a few years ago. Glad to see the city woke up and realized that it is a great place when the downtown is actually populated by people other than rejects. I love all the new buildings going up in St. Louis, its a great thing! I just wish I could afford to move to the city. But with my kids being young, and the schools in St. Louis still aren't great, I'm gonna stick to where I'm at for now at least. I have told my husband though that I would love to retire to a loft overlooking Busch Stadium! All of this is going to make our city great again! It's definately a great thing going on in the city. Washington Ave. is flourishing, and adding new lofts monthly. All the dirty night clubs are being replaced by urban winerys, restaurants, and shops. Ballpark Villiage will be outstanding, and even heard there will be a grocery store included (FINALLY putting one in Downtown). It's very exciting times for the city, and I'm glad I am there to witness it. The only unfortunate thing is the demographics downtown caters to the most....Young, successful young people and middle-aged, near retiring couples. Schools are horrible in the city, and show no signs of improving in the near future. So that takes out the young, growing families. Still good stuff. |
