Things to do in St. Louis in one day?

Hey Guys,

I'm taking a road trip across the country in about a week. One of the stops is St. Louis, MO. I wanted to know from locals or people who have been there... What is the list of must-see things if I only have 1 day there?

Of course it depends on your age and interests. But must-see, unique things to do here include the Arch, the Busch Brewery tour and the Zoo in Forest Park. If you've been to an amusement park anywhere you've been to Six Flags... it's fun but not special. If you're a fan of Italian food, grab a bite to eat on the Hill (careful lots of the restaurants are not open for lunch on weekends) and then get something at an Italian market or bakery. If you're into churches, go into the "New Cathedral". If you're into history, see the old courthouse (walkable from the Arch). If you're into touristy bars and such, walk from the Arch to Laclede's Landing. If you want funkier stuff, head to the Delmar Loop in U.City. Good mix of funky restaurants? Head to South Grand. If you're into sports, try to catch a St. Louis Cardinals Game.

There really is a lot to do in St. Louis, it just depends on what you enjoy. Six Flags is OK if you've got kids, but if you've been to an amusement park anywhere you've been to Six Flags. It's not special enough to spend your one day there (unless, like I said, you have kids who demand this kind of stimulation). Plus, it's pretty far (1/2 hour to 45 mins with no traffic) outside of town so you'll waste a good part of your day driving.

Visit the school where Nelly went. My friend went there and she said it was a mess!
On the highway [can't remember which one] there is actually a McDonalds that is over the highway. You park on the side of the road & then take the stairs or the elevator. You can eat & watch the traffic go under you.
stay downtown on the riverfront or close for most things to do! Def. see the Arch, the catherdral is close or the city museum. Go to Forest Park for the zoo which is also nearby!
Visit the Arch, Anhueser-Busch has an awsome tour with 2 free beers at the end, Grants Farm, go to a Cardinals game.

2. If you are staying the night there stay at the Drury Plaza Hotel. Expensive, I know, but it's well worth it once you stay there!
