Travel Info I have a 12 hour layover in st. louis (7pm-7am). Where should I stay? Near airport? Near downtown attractions? Travel Tips Could stay at Harrah's at Riverport... It's about 8 miles from Lambert. Two casinos, many restaurants and bars and a nice hotel. And there's probably a shuttle from the airport to the hotel. It's a good time there. The food at Moby's is awesome and the buffet isn't bad, either. You should give it a shot. And since it's on a Saturday, there will be plenty going on there. Source(s): http://www.harrahs.com/casinos/harrahs-s... Other Travel Tips If you are going through during the week, I would say just stay out by the airport, there is not a whole lot to do in downtown st. louis anyway, and if you stay out by the airposrt you could maybe hit the casino or just grab dinner out there. If you are going to be there over a weekend, staying downtown could be better. There is a local street down near the river with a lot of bars and clubs, the area is called The Landing, so if you have a weekend night in St. Louis that could be fun. Looking at the time you have its better to have peaceful rest time near the airport...may be a little south of the airport where you'll find some nice restaurants & bars....here's one- 1. Peg-Legs 10419 Saint Charles Rock Rd, St Ann, MO (314) 426-1777 - close call - 1.3 mi SW of St. Louis Lambert You'll find more on St. Charles Rock rd...& its a mile from the airport...& there are lotsa nice/clean motels around the area for your night stay.... hope this helps... There are several national chain hotels across the interstate from the airport. If you do not see a shuttle for one of those hotels, a cab should not cost you that much. With that time of night, you attraction options will probably not be as great as you want. About 10 mins away is a Dave and Buster (large video arcade) if your into that sort of thing. I would go to westport. It's the absolute closest area that has anything fun to do (some bars, restaurants, etc.). take the metro link straight through downtown cross the river into Illinois. The first stop across the river is casino queen, the tables are so green. Then just down route 3 is Pop's night club and they rock 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Guaranteed to meet some characters there. |
