There is also the parade on the 4th starts at 10am here are the streets it will be going down:
Washington Ave from 9th Street to Broadway
~ 4th Street from Washington Ave. to Market Street and
~ Market Street from Broadway to 18th Street
It will end about noon.

There is also on July 2, 3, 4, Saint Charles Riverfest
Frontier Park, St. Charles, MO; 636-949-3200; Admission Free, there is a ton of stuff to do there of course smaller than the one at the Riverfront but, they do have really nice fireworks in the evening.

Every year there is a big fair on the grounds of the riverfront under the arch. Big name entertainment and fireworks included. It is free.
