Travel Tips
Better Job prospects in Sydney because it's more populated and busier. But it's also more expensive than Brisbane.
Others
Brisbane is more pleasant to live in on the whole. Smaller city centre (though the actual city council boundary is miles out), less crime, but still vibrant. Has a more tropical climate; so you might prefer Sydney if you don't like heat and humidity in Jan. Sydney's biggest asset is its harbour. Hard to imagine how beautiful it is, until you see it. And because the city spreads out all round the many inlets from it, you are never far from the sea.
Jobs? Depends what you want. Why not look on the internet to see what is advertised? After all, you only want one job (or two if there are two of you).
But why limit your ideas to these two cities? Why not the mountains for instance (Toowoomba? Warwick?)
Brisbane is cheaper, smaller and more pleasant in some ways. Sydney is lovely once you find a nice place to stay and when you get used to it. It is expensive though. As for jobs it depends on what you intend working at. Both cities are good for nurses, secretaries etc. Brisbane has the advantage of Southbank Parklands which is full of cafes, bars, restaurants etc. They employ lots of people on working holidays so for that type of work it would be good to go there.
there are more job opportunities in SYDNEY....but real estate is a lot more expensive
