They are mostly unfurnished, but there are some which are furnished. Furnished ones costs more to rent. The reason why landlords normally rent out unfurnished is that it is easier to find a tenant that way, as most people have furnitures with them or would rather buy their own.

have you tried this site yet?

Hi there,
I work in real estate in sydney, and majority of the places are unfurnished. There are someplaces like 'Waldorf furnished apartments' which are close to the city - theyre more like a cheap motel room with a bed, bathroom and kitchenette and nto much else. If youre looking for places online, it will be a little hard to find a furnished apartment for less than $200 per week. I suggest you find a place to 'share' with other people, or stay at a hotel/motel until you have enough money to find a place of your own and buy some furnishings. You might also like to try looking in local newspapers in the rental & classified sections for furnished apartments, but alot of the time theyre not cheap.

Also, depending on where in Sydney you are staying (close to the city and the beaches are usually more expensive & housing & rentals get cheaper the further away from the city you are. Most studios are in the $200 range, with one bedders around $300+

with regards to renting furniture & appliances, try radiorentals.com.au or try a yahoo/google search. They vary and it depends on how much you need to rent out ...

Hope that was of some help!
No. They are not all funished.

Buy second hand furniture from charity stores and donate it back when you move again. You can get great bargains!

You need to check the classifieds of the Daily Telegraph, Sunday Telegraph or Sydney Morning Herald.
Typically, most Australian apartments are empty of all furniture when they are listed in the newspaper and classifieds, so as to give the prospective buyer a better understanding of what the apartment (or house) is like in terms of condition.
More than likely. you won't find many that are unless they specify "funished" in the add, and they will cost more
