Whalan is a suburb in the City of Blacktown, in Western Sydney, in the state of New South Wales, Australia.

The suburb takes its name from James Whalan, who was granted 300 acres (1.2 km虏) at Mount Druitt in 1831 by Governer Darling. For more information see letter from council dated 1.4.71 on G.N.B. file 673.
