Bidwell and mt. druitt, Sydney?

What are these areas like? Is it safe to walk around at night?

I currently live right next door to the train station, it's fine. I have never had a problem but I do know my friend's car has been broken into while she has parked it at the shops. I can also tell you that not a lot of people walk around at night. Probably because of the stigma, also because we're all lazy. I have had friends that have lived in Bidwill and always thought it was rougher but not by much. It depends on who you hang out with. Mounty County is alright with me though. I don't know Bidwell at all but Mt Druitt has a reputation for being a pretty rough neighbourhood, i prob. wouldn't be out on the streets at night esp. not alone. Just thugs and groups of guys around which makes me nervous. I worked in a nightclub in the western suburbs and it was pretty rough, with fights most nights. I had to be escorted by security to my car after I knocked off. I haven't lived in Sydney for several years but suspect that neighbourhood wouldn't have improved!
certainly no holiday location thats for sure. rooty hill RSL has a mean roast special and your close to the the car race track
they both have a high crime rate.
Well if you listen to the media hype no. However my sister in law lives there, she had been the 20 years and loves it. Its a great place. I have no hesitation going there
