How much are visas to australia? |
Travel Info we are moving to aus soon and need to know price of visas and also what visa i will need, my boyfriend is going on a skilled visa! Travel Tips Hi there, I've been through the visa applications way toooo much before! First of all, if you're moving soon, you'll need to get going on your visa - they can easily take up to a year to get organised depending on the class of visa. If your boyfriend considers you his defacto partner, you may be able to come in under clauses in his visa, as skilled workers can apply for family members (including partners) to come with them. If that is not an option for his class of visa, the only option is for you to get extended travel/tourist visas for up to 12 months. For this you'd have to always buy round trip tickets so you could always show that you were going to leave before your visa was up. After your boyfriend becomes a permanant resident, he can sponsor you to come over on a partnered visa. Visas to Aus are rather expensive - e.g. for my process of moving here it cost me approx. $2000 australian, and I know it has gone up since then. The best thing to do is to get onto this site http://www.dimia.gov.au and look at the options for different visa classes. This is where you'll get the official government information and all the forms you'll need. And get going quickly! :-) If you don't get visas organised before you leave, you will have to make sure you have a return ticket in hand so you are allowed to travel! Good luck, and I hope you enjoy it here - it's a wonderful place! Others id like to know myself If youre moving you'll need a Visa, but im pretty certain you'll still need all the proper documentation as if you were travelling on a vacation.... passport, other means of personal ID proving current US citizenship. you need to go on your local city website and find where the passports are issued in your city. Also the city you are moving to... blah blah blah. Price depends-.(i dont know what it costs.) passports are like 50 + depending. dont know what visas are. As an FYI - there's a 1.93% difference (between) in the value of the USD and AUD ...... (i think, i could be off on the percent, i cant remember) - So, if youre doing things the oldfashioned way and transfering funds...... less is more. $5000 USD is close to $9000 AUD ... but who does that anymore. *grins* ....... i just felt like answering this one lol. don't even know if it helped any. I've never been there. *smiles* Hi The best place to get information on visas for Australia is www.austemb.org. If you need a US passport, your post office will have the necessary forms. You can find out fees and info www.usps.com. As for the difference in money.. US$5000 is about AU$6005. I am an Aussie living here in Sunny California. I am sure you will love Australia, it is a beautiful country. Sydney is my home city. |
