How cold is winter in Blenheim, New Zealand & how long is winter there?

Travel Tips
Climate
Blenheim regularly claims the highest sunshine hours in New Zealand, and has low rainfall. Each season in Marlborough has its distinct appeal: summer brings long warm days and stunning evenings; autumn promises clear, still days, a blaze of vineyard colour, and is one of the best times to explore; winter is short and may bring a spectacular rim of snow on the distant high country mountains; spring arrives with a sudden burst of cherry blossom and leaf, and the opening of gardens to view.

Other Travel Tips
As a Blenheimer who has lived in a few places I can say it can get quite crisp in the mornings....because there is often not much cloud, you get frosty nights and chilly mornings eg down to around -3 or -4 on cold mornings, sometimes slightly less. Days generally warm up as the sun takes effect. There are days however when the cloud comes in and the day does not warm up.
We don't get snow (its only ever snowed twice in my life) on the plains here, but it does in the mountains nearby.
Winter is June/July and August but we have had the odd cold day already. I would say cold day temps are say 8oC (with very occasional colder days) and it can easily get to the mid teens (especially on nice sunny days).
Houses tend not to have the central heating here so they may feel a bit cold at times too.
As Marlborough is the drought capital of the country, there is not that much rain (ie around 600mm per year) but there is more rain in the winter.....
Overall I like the climate (bar the frosty mornings, but the bright sunny day that usually accompanies it makes it not so bad!)
