What are the good suburbs to rent in Sydney? |
Travel Info Quiet, Neat and Tidy, Hig Class, Easy Access to Bushes and Biking and also resonable transport to townhall. Thank you. Travel Tips Listed from the most expensive to the most affordable: Municipality of Woollahra: http://www.woollahra.nsw.gov.au/home... Sutherland Shire Council: http://www.sutherland.nsw.gov.au/ssc/hom... Parramatta City Council: http://www.parracity.nsw.gov.au/... Blacktown City Council: http://www.blacktown.nsw.gov.au/... From what I have been told, Sydney is quite different culturally and socially to most US cities, so you may want to be here a while before making any long term decision. Woollahra and Blacktown are probably the most culturally diverse of the areas, despite being on different ends of the cost scale. But Sutherland is a 'hipper' place for kids and has the advantage of the beaches. Parramatta is a great area, but is very busy developing, so if you like a quieter area you may want to consider somewhere else. These are just four of Sydney's huge number of local council areas covering hundresd of suburbs, and every area has some lovely places and also some less lovely. The eastern and southern suburbs have easier access to beaches, the western suburbs are closer to the rivers and mountains. Each of the areas has access to bike riding areas or facilities and there are also some places where bike riding is possible but you have to travel to: http://www.sydneyolympicpark.com.au/home... Every good wish for your stay in Australia! :-) Edited to say: I can't believe I got a thumbs down on this! So much for sharing information, lol. I've lived in Sydney nearly 30 years, everywhere from the inner city to my current abode in Blacktown and I thought the Aussies on this board might have more brains than some others, but it seems not. I notice anyone who mentioned the northside and Sutherland got a thumbs down. I've never lived in Sutherland area, although a family member does, and I'm guessing whoever is doing this has some issues. Build a bridge you nitwit. Others The suburbs I prefer are, Parramatta (cycle in the park or along the river) which is close to ferry or train to the city. Personal knowledge North Sydney, it is a nice place and maybe little more than half an hour by train to town hall. Quiet a few leafy walk tracks but no bushes as it is near the heart of the city. Our big bush walks are at least a couple of hours away over in Sutherland (kuringai national park) and the blue mountains. But both of this involve quiet a lot of travel via train to Town Hall. But there are a few parks and ovals in Lane Cove and there is a park near by depending on what side you live on that has a view of the harbour bridge. Anywhere from Chatswood and further north.... I have lived in Sydney's west and I must say I will never go back. I have lived in Sydney's East for the past 5 years and I loved it! I lived in Bondi and Rose Bay. Northern Beaches is beautiful and the Eastern suburbs. they would be my pick. Stay away from the rest, lower class and lower standard of living. I think the only suburbs that fit your requirements are in the north west: carlingford, Hornsby, oatlands.... |
