Travel Info
hi everyone, im thinking of going to australia around this time next year,i need some help regarding programme choices. ive been onto LOADS of different gap year websites and found LOADS of courses that have certain appealing factors, however, i have found one particular company, Greenforce, who have exactly the 2 types (i cant make up my mind) of courses i would be interested in, as i would LOVE to travel around a bit and see what must be a fantastic country!
my question is (questions are more like hehe), has anyone used this comany or does anyone no anything about its reputation, and if you have used this company what is it like?? are they efficient and organised and did you get enough time to do some sightseeing aswell.
p.s please look at this website and tell me what you think about the 2nd and 3rd options! http://www.greenforce.org/destinations/a...
thanks, love lucy xx

Travel Tips
I looked at your website. Looks like you will be able to travel in between working and I am sure you will have some time off. Access to transport is the question I would have as most places like that are quite isolated. As regards options I would go for the hospitality one as it will give you more experience and chances of getting work as you travel a bit afterwards.

I would suggest for visiting that you should get to see as much as possible.
Sydney/New South Wales: Byron Bay, Sydney Powerhouse Museum, Darling Harbour, Casino, Coogee, The Rocks, Opera House, Hunter Valley Wine Region, Blue Mountains, Manly, Palm Beach.

Melbourne/Victoria: Melbourne is great for shopping and sport, casino, port to Tasmania, Ballarat & Sovereign Hill, Geelong, Great Ocean Road, Melbourne Zoo.

Western Australia: Rottnest Island, Margaret River, Pinnacles Desert, Kalbarri National Park, Monkey Mia, city of Perth.

Centre: Ayers Rock, The Olgas, Kings Canyon, Alice Springs-Flying Drs centre, Coober Pedy.

Queensland: Southbank Parklands in Brisbane, Gold Coast, Noosa, Lamington National Park, Maleny, Montville in Glasshouse Mountains, North Stradbroke Island, Fraser Island, Airlie Beach, Cairns, Daintree Rainforest, Cape Tribulation, white water rafting with Raging Thunder {Cairns} on Tully River, trip to Barrier reef from Cairns, Australia Zoo, Lots of themeparks on Gold Coast.
Others
Hartley's Creek Crocodile Farm in North Queensland is worth a visit. Also the Cairns to Karunda Sky Rail and the Queen Victoria Buildings in Sydney, make sure to put 2 dollars in the dog. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/queen_victo...
Why not just ask them - they will give top accuracy about the amount of free time you will have.

PS If you are going to Sydney at this time of year next year, do you realise it is their winter? Whilst the temperatures will be ok you will be in for a lot of rain and floods in June/July.

Take your wellies.

Check out bbc world and local weather floods imminent everwhere - http://www.bbc.co.uk/weather/

Here is the page for Australia - look left and down for different city weather http://www.bbc.co.uk/weather/world/count... by the way I've never known the average temperature to be in the twenties during the summer months as the bbc site indicates - November, December, January, February, in fact march and april can be pretty hot too. Winter temps in 20s yes.
Lived there for 3+ years
Perfect time to go. It's their autumn now coming into winter so it won't be too hot for you. The Aussie weather is different than here. It is a dry heat and you will cook so best to avoid their summer.

You must see Ayres Rock, Sydney Harbour, the Opera House and climb the bridge. There are so many things to see. Wave Rock, Ballarat, the gold mining town, Melbourne Park where Captain Cook's house is, The Dandenong Ranges, making me homesick now. Can I come with you?

Yes, it is a fantastic country. You won't want to come back.
Aussie, going home in a few years.
sounds like fun. hope u enjoy our great country:)
