Do Australian hospitals employ operating department practitioners? |
Travel Info Just wondering whether they are recognised there or if they have a different title Travel Tips At this stage we don't have operating department practictioners as you do. If the nurses shortage continues to worsen then perhaps it will happen in the very near future though. You must be either a Registered or Enrolled Nurse to work in the operating rooms [public system as I can't vouch for the Private sector hospitals]. We do have perioperative nurse surgeon's assistant or PNSA's. They are registered nurses who are qualified to assist the surgeon during surgery. If you do need any further information I suggest you contact ACORN....Australian Council of Operating Room Nurses. Source(s): http://www.acorn.org.au/index.php/... Other Travel Tips |
