Going to Australia for the first time next year. Suggestions for destinations, accommodations, events, etc? |
Travel Info Going to Australia for the first time next year. Suggestions for destinations, accommodations, events, etc? Travel Tips The best time to go for your first time is Feb-March. It's not a peak time to go, and the weather is still wonderful! If you go over Christmas (the peak season), it's very hot, during June is their winter (cheap to get there, but cold, or rainy). Sydney is a must see. Visit the Opera House, The Rocks nearby, the beaches, the revolving restaurant. Most is in walking distance, or a short trip by the local trains. Other places to see, (depending on the time and money you have) are Canberra (the capital city), and Melbourne (Moomba festival is in early March). Melbourne also has wineries, and you can go panning for gold as you learn about the Aussie gold rush days. You can also head up the east coast towards Surfer's Paradise and Brisbane. You can get tours that will also take you to Ayer's Rock, and further into the Outback. For a first trip, I'd stick with Sydney, and maybe Canberra/Melbourne if you have time. Have fun! Others no,But i,ll tell you what,All the poeple on yahoo anwsers and q.,i always come friends with and like the poeple the best from Australia!Their so nice and down to earth! They have Great big Hearts!Hollywood I'm Australian, and have travelled here a bit so here are my suggestions. Sydney is awesome. Any time of the year is good at the moment seeing as we havent had much rain for years- you are guarenteed some sun! But the best time is November- just starting to warm up and the beaches are great. Sydney city is beautiful, the Rocks are good as well as the Opera house and the Bridge. If you have time/can afford doing the Bridge climb, it is so good. So much fun! The Sunshine Coast and Gold Coast in Queensland are so good all year round, except Jan/Feb...tends to get too hot, and it is school holidays, so they are really busy. Go out to the reef, like do snorkelling or something. Have a great time here!! |
