Within 2 hrs, for a 4WD trip, the Blue Mountains should get you there (takes about 1.5 hrs to get out there). Nice for the 4WD, going up the mountains, and also nice scenic views to enjoy as well. Katoomba is the most well known place in the Blue Mountains area, so just go out West (forget what the name of the Highway is), but you pass through the areas, like Parramatta, Penrith etc.

I would recommend either the Hunter Valley or the Blue Mountains.
