Cheapest travel to Australia, very flexible.? |
Travel Info I'm planning on going to Sydney, Australia in June of 2008 and I want to know the cheapest way to get there from the states. I'll be going to Alaska for my friends high school graduation but since I'm going to washington state because I'm going to take the ferry up to Alaska I'll be in Seattle, Washington so I can fly back to Arizona (if I don't get a ticket from Washington to Australia) so if anyone knows of a way to fly from Seattle, Washington to Sydney, Australia for cheap, I'm very flexible I don't care what time the flight leaves or lands, how many stops, lay overs there are and so on I just want to get there the person I'll be staying with doesn't care either as long as I get there :-D so any type of help would be awesome, thanks a lot. Travel Tips Hi, This site has the cheapest flight around, at the moment you are unable to see 2008 air fares only 2007. The air fares for June 2007 are in US Dollars and are from USD 1163.00 to USD 1578.00 that was using Seattle to Sydney return economy class. below is a list of flights for June 2007 http://res.zuji.com/aircairline.ctl?prom... Here is there site to go to in 2008 Click on the city list and when you put in Seattle to Sydney it will give you the price in US Dollars http://www.zuji.com.au/web/content/au/fl... There was an artical in todays The New York Times. I think it's worth a read. It was mentioned on my favarate radio station 101.7 fm http://travel2.nytimes.com/2006/11/12/tr... regards from Down Under Others Jump into the Puget Sound and swim from there. u can save some money if u have a credit card that earns you miles - more than likely u will have to fly out of l.a or san francisco The price of a flight from LA to Sydney in 2007 is around $1,550US with Qantas and around $1,650US with United Airlines from Seattle (via LA) to Sydney. Given that it is too early to get prices for 2008 you can probably expect these fares to rise. Air Canada fly direct from Vancouver to Sydney or for one out of left field perhaps check out Japan Airlines routes. You'd have to go via Tokyo but perhaps u can get there from Alaska To add to all the info above, I checked Travelocity. A one way from Seattle to Sydney on 6/12/2007 is, at it's cheapest there, $1347. There are three, all United, with a change over in San Francisco. They vary in length from roughly 18-22 hours total trip time. The departure times are 3:20 PM, 5:21 PM & 7:25 PM. Apparently, they all end up filtering into the second flight as the arrival times for all three are listed at 6:25 AM. On Expedia, I found better deals. There's an Air NZ flight on the same day above for $1020. It has twoconnections though: one in San Francisco & one in Auckland, NZ. Total travel time around 20 hours. Leaves at 5:21 AM & arrives at 8:30 AM. Also on Expedia is an Air Canada flight that goes to Vancouver, then straight to Sydney. It's $1226. Total travel time is about 20 hours. Leaves at 3:35 PM, arrives at 6:30 AM. Expedia also has a number of Qantas flights at $1320. 2008 is a ways away yet. A lot could change, especially with volatility in the airline market. |
