What happens if you drive thru the Sydney Harbour Tunnel and don't have an e tag? |
Travel Info I accidentally drove thru the etag lane so I didn't get to pay the toll. It was the first time I have driven thru and got in the wrong lane in peak hour. Will they just send a bill in the mail or will I get fined? Thanks Travel Tips We've done that too accidently about a year and a half ago. This was before we had purchased our e-tag. We never got a bill or a fine or a warning letter of any sort. I guess we were just lucky...hope you are too. My guess is if it's the Harbour Tunnel you might be lucky but if it's the Cross City Tunnel you'll have to pay them online through their website or pay when they track your number plate. Others you have 48 hours to pay it or they start charging you more. they locate you thru the RTA and bill you but more then the actual toll. you need to call the e tag hotline and pay it over the phone if its still within the 48hours . hope this helps, i dont know the hotline number sorry. I THINK (I will have a look) that you can go on the Etoll website within 3-4 days of the incident and just pay the toll fee plus a little extra for getting it late and that. OK, I found it. here is a website and FAQ's. Your thing will be near the bottom of the page, the 2nd last question. Hope this helps or contact the RTA directly http://www.rta.nsw.gov.au/usingroads/mot... http://www.rta.nsw.gov.au/usingroads/mot... |
