There are various types of visa. I am in the middle of applying for a spouse visa, suppose to be the easiest one, however, I have been waited for several months and I still have not heard from DIMIA or from my attorney yet. I was told that there is an influx of applicants and that caused the delay. I think your best bet maybe try New Zealand or some other countries.
