I am going to study in Sydney in a few years, and i have to choose between 3 Film Schools? |
Travel Info So how do i know which is the better one. I looked at the price, some of their mini movies, and how old the school is. That didnt help. Maybe you guys know. Its between: APA international film school Sydney; Sydney Film School; The interational Film School Sydney? There are lost more, but i think its between these 3. If you know of something better, please tell. Thank you so much! Travel Tips For techical courses, the Australian Film Television and Radio School (AFTRS) located next to Macquarie University in north-western Sydney is the ONLY film school in Australia to consider. Its the one where all Australian studios recruit from and is the one with any kind of reputation. Be careful of small fly-by-night 'schools' that may have glitzy web sites, but are only a few rooms in a city office building and no reputation. Since the deregulation of Australian higher education, there have been a plethora of small, dodgy schools pop up. For acting courses, the only one to consider is NIDA, the National Institute of Dramatic Art, next to the University of New South Wales in Sydney's eastern suburbs. That's where nearly all Aussie actors graduated from. (A few years ago, Mel Gibson paid several million dollars for a new building as a thank you gift to them for teaching him everything he knew.) Of course these two schools are very expensive, but what price can you put on excellence? Source(s): Its common knowledge in Australia Other Travel Tips |
