Which places i must visit in sydney?

Travel Tips
In addition to the ones already mentioned above, I'd throw in a few others:

* Manly Beach (and take the slow ferry, wonderful, see link)
* the Royal Botanical Gardens (great place for lunch and right by the Opera House)
* Featherdale Zoo (a bit of a trek outside Sydney proper, but I prefer it to Taronga and you can pet so many of the animals, more accessible)
* do the Beach Explorer (see link below with the Sydney Pass), so you can experience almost ALL of the beaches (I think Bondi's overrated, too, but so many love it)
* do the Sydney Explorer so you can see the main sites and have a brief audio tour, too (very good for first day, see Sydney Pass link below)
* Darling Harbour
* Chinese Gardens
* Chinatown over by Haymarket (Paddy's for cheap souvenirs)
(Darling Harbour, Chinese Gardens, and Paddy's all within walking distance of one another)
* if summer, one of the Outdoor Cinemas
* Sydney Harbour Bridge (you can do the Bridge Climb, or you can almost get the same view by climbing the Pylon Lookout)
* Circular Quay (pronounced 'key'), major hub of trains, buses, taxes and ferries...and busking musicians, street performers
* if at possible, try and take in a sports match (rugby, Aussie rules, cricket...something)
* Luna Park (across from the Opera House in North Sydney)
* King Street over by Camperdown for music, food variety
* George Street for shopping, damn near anything else
* Watson's Bay for Doyle's on the Beach (best of the Doyle's in my opinion)...enjoy seafood right *on the beach*...have dinner there and watch the sun set behind the Sydney skyline (take the ferry over if you can, really nice)
* a pub! (The Mercantile in The Rocks is good, but so many...)

There is much, more more. And definitely check out the live music there, too, all over the city...well worth it. Have fun. Source(s): http://www.sydneypass.info/

Other Travel Tips
the opera house i'd say
Your question is too broad, as you have not said what kinds of things you like, e.g. cultural, nature, animals.

Blue Mountains, an hour from Sydney, it lovely.

Taranga Zoo is across the harbour from the city (Sydney) but Featherdale and the Australian Reptile Park (which includes Australian animals which are not reptiles) are better for Australian animals.

There are several museums, but don't know if you are into them.

There are many good beaches. Bondi is the most famous but not the best. Maroubra is good; Watamola (spelling?) in the The Royal National Park is excellent if you are not interested in large waves.
