Are there smoking restrictions in Australia? |
Travel Info Are there smoking restrictions in Australia? Travel Tips From July in VIC there will be no smoking in pubs (in enclosed areas). Others It's a state to state thing. In Victoria you can't smoke in restaurants, & there's a semi enclosed section set aside in the pokies. Go over the border to NSW & it's a lot more relaxed. Depends on where you are... Yes Your not allowed to smoke in Australia..the whole country is a smoke free zone! lol..I wish The laws a changing and get more strict. At the moment in NSW you can't smoke in restaurants and certains parts of pubs. I do believe though they are going to ban it in all enclosed areas. It varies from State to State but don't expect to be able to smoke in any enclosed public area, in any restaurant, in any pub (after June 30), on any railway station, at any sporting venue, within 50m or 100m of a school, near doors at airports and shopping centres and probably a few other places as well. There are laws coming in, if not already in place in some States, that will ban smoking in cars with children on board. Fortunately, I quit smoking five years ago so it doesn't bother me at all. Yes. They are different in each state and Territory. In Qld there is no smoking in pubs,,clubs,,restaurants,,shop... centres,,within certain distances from the entrances of buildings,,public transport,,hospital grounds and no throwing ciggie butts out your car windows either its an on the spot fine ! |
