Im going to australia sydney in october 07 any good places to vist i have 2 kids 12, & 15? |
Travel Info the 15 yr old is into skateboarding & the 12yr old is animal mad, is there much to do for that age group over there??? Travel Tips theres this monster skate park in homebush bay. its open everyday and ive been there. its got ramps etc. for extreme skatboarding and famous people come there sometimes. definately take the kids to homebush bay, olympic park cos there is the aquatic center, skate place, tennis courts etc. basically anything recreational outdoors. also in the city there is the luna park (theme park) which is fun. umm... theres also the taronga zoo and the newly open wildlife park. also the sydney aquarium. there all in sydneys darling harbour so its not far from each other but the zoo is in mosman and you can catch a ferry from circular quay in the harbour. also you should go to average suburb shops like westfield parramatta, hornsby, chatswood etc. westfield parramatta is HUGE. i think its the biggest in sydney other then shops in the city (i think) there is also the beaches: manly, dee why, bondi, coogee, maroubra, palm beach etc. since its october when you come, it will be starting to be pretty hot down here. hope i helped Source(s): http://www.sydneyolympicpark.com.au/... http://www.darlingharbour.com.au/... Other Travel Tips Ay Mate!!! See a croc!! Sydney is a brilliant city. What I'd suggest is that, rather than try to suit Sydney to your sons' tastes, let them discover new things. You MUST visit Taronga zoo, which you get to by ferry from the central quays - it's a twenty minute trip across the bay. Try the Sydney Harbour Bridge climb - for an outstanding view. The Tower (I forget it's name but it looks like the Seattle Space needle) is worth a look, and can be found on Pitt Street, which is on of Sydney's main commercial streets. You can go right to the top. Visit Darling Harbour, where you'll find the Sydney Aquarium, which is simply outstanding, and also the IMAX cinema. I tell you what, I envy you, I 'd love to go again. Enjoy! Take them to the zoo's,Bondi is a top knotch beach,plenty of skate board parks. If your going to visit any places go to the Blue mountains and have a look at some beautiful countryside with dense bushland and make sure you go to the Jenolin caves and the area,s surrounding Katoomba like the three sisters,goverts leap and the scenic railway. Do you and your kids a favour and stay in the hills for a couple of days. I think fishing the beaches in and around Sydney and the ferry trip around Botany bay and Sydney harbour would also be welcomed. Anyway have a great trip. Lived in Sydney 1990, Dont worry sydney caters for everything, never a dull moment! Make sure you take a good camera with you! Places to visit pends on your interest? But youl'l soon find out, everything is well advertised. You will enjoy it mate! check the travel tickets out at newsagents etc, saves you a fortune and a lot less hassle commuting. Ummmmm not really in Sydney, but try Melbourne or maybe even NZ which is right next door. |
