A good hostel in sydney? |
Travel Info hey i'll be going to australia for a year in a few weeks and was hoping someone could recommend a good hostel for my first port of call, sydney. Avoid staying in Kings cross... people end up staying there fore months and they are the shittest hostels in AUS... people only drink and do dope. Best move out of sydney asap... but do visti the oxford tavern/rits in PETERSHAM, Purple line, few stops from central... Wed night. after 9.30 Jelly wrestle night,,, very lively and lots of fun and friendly to girls too. Much more fun then in kings cross. and very silly. Oh and tips... dont book a lot of things to do in in sydney often cheaper when you get there. Note backpacker travel agencies often have free internet. go from Syndey to byon bay by Andos Out Back Tours In the whitsundays go with the Avatar yacht the trimaran looking like something out of Startrek... and get a go on a mxi yacht (poss to win one in magnums bar in Airlie beach) DEF DEF DEF if with oz experience when you get to Dingo cattle station do the helicopter flight below tree level and top speed... No chopper flight is like it anywhere... its like a fighter pilot Others Why don't you try to stay at either Asylum Sydney or wake up hostel. They both are center located and highly rated by people. You will also find more cheap accommodation in Sydney at http://www.hostelbookers.com/ hope this helps Ya cant go wrong with manly... Sun surf and pubs.. Not to mention hot women.. There are a heap of hostels in manly. Right next to the beach too.. Sorry i dont know the name of any of them... Manly resident... In my experience, you won't go far wrong with an Hostelling International hostel http://www.hihostels.co.uk/. This is the brand name of the International Youth Hostel Federation (IYHF). Speak to the England & Wales YHA http://www.yha.org.uk/ before you leave. Having said this, there are loads of hostels in Oz so once you're there, you'll find loads that are better and loads that are worse. Join a free website called travelpod - you can ask travellers opinions of anything from what to pack through to where to stay. The site will give you first-hand information that is up-to-date. |
