WHat is the best suburb in Sydney to live in? How do you commute to the city from there and how long? |
Travel Info Moving to Sydney and looking for an area with a nice feel, preferrably some good cafes and villagey feel. Looking for a commute of no more than 30 -40 minutes. Happy to ride to work if there is a decent (not too dangerous) cycle route. THinking Eastern suburbs or inner west. Keen to understand what public transport is available to get to work and how long it takes. Not really interested in ferry unless there is also another road option for when ferries stop running in the evenings. Looking forward to your advice! Travel Tips Move to Auburn. Lots of Kebabs. 25Minute train ride to the City.. http://www.auburn.nsw.gov.au/page.aspx?i... Others Glebe, Newtown, Annandale, Balmain, St Peters, Redfern is very underrated. Leichhardt. All out of my price range but are nice places with good atmosphere, cafes and night life. Buses and trains mainly which run fairly regularly. You could cycle if you want to run the risk with Sydney drivers, buses and tourists. Ferries are good from Balmain and can take you in to Darling harbour, but still buses etc. |
