What are some fun things to do in Australia around Sydney? |
Travel Info I'm going on vacation to Australia over Christmas 2007 and New Years 2008 and I'll be mostly around Sydney. What are some hot spots? Travel Tips It depends what you're into. Email me through my profile and I'll try to help you out. Others It all depends what you like to do? What are your interests? Here are some of the basics which should help you out. Take a climb up Sydney's Harbour Bridge with BridgeClimb. Go to the newly refurbished Taronga Park Zoo...make sure you take the ferry there from Circular Quay as along the journey there you will get a great view of our spectacular harbour. Take a bus day trip to the "Blue Mountains" these buses leave from all the major hotels and also from Circular Quay...bookings essential. Walk around the "rocks area" in Sydney, just near the Harbour there are lots of great little shops and eateries hiding everywhere and the view of the harbour is fabulous. Take a trip ip to Centrepoint tower for a great dinner at night and some great views and photo opportunities. Enjoy! Newtown is nice if you like cafes and interesting little shops plus it is just outside the main part of the city. Darling Harbour always has things going on both outside with general entertainment and different festivals, as well as at the museum etc- they run different events/features each month or so at a time. I personally love the Sydney Aquarium- this is near Darling Harbour. Also given that it will be Christmas there will be probably be extra stuff on like Harbour cruise dinners, music festivals, Christmas shows. The Sydney fireworks are cool for NYE, but a lot of people go out to see them. Some people have said the Harbour Bridge Climb is fun but I haven't done it. There are also quite a few art galleries scattered around the place. You will have a great time here! |
