Going to australia's west coast next July - advice wanted on things to see and do/places to stay? |
Travel Info we are travelling for about 3 weeks arriving in sydney heading up the gold coast and then over to ayers rock and back to sydney to fly home - would love details on driving times - things to see - better to fly/drive from Brisbane or??? to ayers rock etc Travel Tips only 3 wks to go to those places, I suggest fly from Bne to Ayers Rock and back, drive from Sydney to Gold Coast you will love the scenery prob. take 1-2 depending on your stops and site seeing. and Ayers Rock is not on the west coast of Australia its in the middle up north and hot in summer cooler nights in winter - July is winter here. on the Gold Coast there are plenty places to see dreamworld, waterworld, seaworld, movieworld, bird sanctuary. I think thats enough for 3 wks of touring. At Ayers Rock - which is named Uluru - plenty of tours at the outback to see. check out travel australia website Others You are talking about the east coast. Australia's west coast has places like Perth, Broome, Port Headland. It takes about 10-12 hours to drive from Sydney to Brisbane. But there are plenty of places to stop on the way. If you like beaches Coffs Harbour has some pretty good beaches (and surfing if that is what you are into), plus the Big Banana. Byron Bay is another beach town, lovely beaches but a bit pricy and full of hippies. There in an inland route that takes you over the mountains. Look at this website www.visitnsw.com.au for some ideas. Brisbane is about 40 minutes over the border. It has a number of theme parks nearby (dreamworld, seaworld, movieworld - lot's of worlds). Enjoy! |
