Travel Info How long does it take to drive from brisbane to sydney? Travel Tips It depends. There's often accidents between New Italy and Coffs and then the highway will close. I went down last weekend from Tweed Heads (just over an hour from Brissie) and it took THIRTEEN HOURS from Tweed (so 14 and a bit from Brisbane) because there was a head on accident and the road was closed and we had to take a detour out onto these windy dirt roads (and the trucks had too) and two trucks spilt their load and got stuck so yeah... we got stuck again. But on the way back it only took 10 and a bit hours (so probably 11.5 to Brisbane) Others about 12 hours along the coast road about 940kms 11 -12 hours on the road. Usually 10-11hours with no stops except to fill up your tank with fuel... it takes us 12h, if we only stop twice for just 5-10 mn. Allow at least 12 hours and make sure you STOP, REVIVE and SURVIVE at least every 2 hours. Even if it's just for 5 minutes to stretch your legs and go to the loo. took me two weeks. |
