What kind of animals do they have in Taiwan?

Travel Tips
the ones you are most likely to see:

in the cities:
primates (mostly homo sapiens, and possibly homo erectus variants driving BMW's, mixed with gracile homo binlantuo yifuius)

street dogs searching for garbage
wild dogs that look miserable and angry.
puffy white or brown things that are very cute, related to dogs held in owners arms.
hairless cats held in owners arms.
cats with tails mysteriously missing scuttling everywhere.
giant rats the size of your forearm- yes they are bigger than the tailless cats.
giant cockroaches the size of your open hand.
clouds of mosquitos.
captive pigeons and doves in cages beside the road providing sonic relief.
the occasional free bird overhead providing occasional visual relief if you dare look up from the road.

in the country:
oxes that chew grass and look happy in mud puddles.
primates (as above, more homo binlan tuoyifuis is present, with even less clothing!)
more birds that look happier.
chickens that are scurrying out of your way off the road.
turkeys wisely remaining off the road.
ducks and gooses sitting in their artificial ponds awaiting their doom.
wild dogs.
wild cats.
rats.
cranes gracefully posing in the rice fields.
black fishies swimming in the concrete trenches between the rice fields in the unpolluted parts.

in the mountains:
wild dogs that look happy.
cats which usually have their tails intact somehow.
monkeys if you get in deep enough.
the rare sika deer. (I have seen the eyes glowing at night.)
the rare sun bear. (I have not seen except in the taipei zoo.)
white cranes gracefully posing around various trees.
primates. (generally homo sapiens.)
brown squirrels with puffy tails deftly avoiding disneyfied homo sapiens cooing and chasing in pursuit.

and many more I cannot think off offhand.
Others
Lions, tigers and bears OH My!!!
"Taiwan represents three major climatic zones and its diverse topography have endowed the island with a wide range of flora and fauna. Some 60 species of mammals, around 500 species of birds (40 percent of which are resident), 90 species of reptiles, 30 amphibian species, nearly 150 species of freshwater fish, and 17,600 named insect species, (including 400 butterfly species), are known to exist in the Taiwan area. Monkeys, deer, wild boars, snakes, panthers, wildcats and bears are some of the types of animal life in Taiwan"

wow

they have many of the same animals that china does
and also many of the same that we do too
Do you mean the animals in zoo or......??
In zoo.... they have most animals all the other zoos have.

When you drive on highway, you don't have to worry kill bunnies and deers because you only can see them in mountain...... you won't see lions, tigers, and bears on street even in mountain..... most of them are in the zoos.....

The size of cockroach is bigger.... everywhere in Asia is like that..... it is common to see geckos at house but it is harmless anyway.
Ok, that's a bit general - but I'll try my best anyway:

Pests: Mosquitoes (a lot), cockroaches (flying ones as well).

Mammals: Macaque monkeys, Sun Bears (crescent on their chests), a species of mid-sized wild mountain cat of which I have forgotten, whales, dolphins. All of these are quite threatened and have been insufficiently looked after by the Taiwanese - sorry.

Insects: Giant centipedes - almost 10 inches and poisonous in the mountains, golden orb spiders as large as a humans hand (in the mountains), Cicadas..........

Birds: Taiwan tit and a few others.

So many more...
