Any possibility of Taiwan declaring independence in the middle of the 2008 summer olympics in Beijing? |
Travel Info I think it would be the best timing....show China how it's done. what do you think? Travel Tips its unlikely. if anything when they kick the PRC's *** in tennis or something, they will piss them off by showing their flag and annoying the host. maybe they will sing the national anthem they already have and flash the money they already use and is accepted internationally. but as far as triggering ww3 i doubt it. Others I dont think so. You have to understand that Taiwan is a part of the ROC and does not need to be Independant as The ROC is a Sovereign Nation. You are under the impression that the ROC is a part of the PRC. Well, the PRC has never had any control or Jurisdiction over the ROC's territories since it was formed in 1949. In theory you would think that would be the best timing but the President of Taiwan has his own political problems right now so probably doubtful he will try anything. |
