How do I get a free trip to Taiwan? (exchange programs, etc)? |
Travel Info I want to go to Taiwan...for free. How can I do this? Exchange programs, volunteering, I'll do anything. Can it be done? Travel Tips Nothing in this world is free. you can earn back your initial investment in an air-ticket relatively easily by teaching English (if you are comfortable doing that) Most employers wont pay for your ticket to bring you over until they have seen you in person. They usually will keep the position open for you if you agree over the net. But your airfare is your problem. Its advisable to come with friends and look for jobs here rather than doing it before you come over the net. But when I was young I never listened to that advice either... and got burned by a combo of culture shock and the general bad treatment of human beings by strange businessmen who run bushiban/kindergartens. Like 60- 85% of people do who work it out over the net for Taiwan and Korea (and increasingly mainland china). Anyways there are some exchange programs that universities and high schools offer as well. if you are canadian check... http://www.yorku.ca/easp/awards/exchange... why do you want to get here so badly? Others I've seen ads posted on craigslist.com before. hummm, I don't know for free but If you hav a little money you can register with a english teaching company in whcih you can go to the rural parts of taiwan to go and teach the kids there english, although everything is free you have to pay for your airplane fee but it is usually discounted. You could do a courier service but I'm not sure how hat works out |
