Where can one find india food in taipei? |
Travel Info Indian Vegetarian seraching for decent good place to have indian dinner in taipei. Can anyone of you recommend a place with estimated costs for two Travel Tips Hi, Why Indian Veg?? Taiwan has a very large Buddhist Community. Look for the Swastika sign in the food shop or restaurant a,as well as outside signs - and you will get delicious veg food. If you go to the take aways it can cost abot NTD75 per head. You choose what you want from all that is displayed and they will weigh it on an electronic scale. Others Hi, there are a few Indian restaurants in Taipei. The one I've been to thrice already is the Ali Baba's Indian Kitchen located at: 2nd Floor, No. 56-58, Nanjing East Road Section 2, Taipei City. However, this restaurant does not serve vegetarian food. So I did a little web search, and found 1 establishment that serves Indian vegan food (along with Chinese and Western.) I just called up Hare Krishna Temple, and was informed by a kind man that Hare Krishna Temple is not actually a restaurant, but a Temple (or some sort of Center.) Now why didn't I see this coming??!! How embarrasing!! Good thing I called them up. You know, sometimes the information contained in some webpages are actually expired, and therefore not accurate. Anyway, the man told me that they hold programs on Sundays starting at 5pm, and the food is indeed Indian-vegan and FOC (free of charge.) Anybody can join in the fun, HE EVEN INVITED ME!! Give them a call, they speak very good English. http://www.happycow.net/asia/taiwan/taip... There's also the New Delhi Indian Cuisine at 382 Lin Shen N. Road (just north of Min Sheng E. Road) They advertise vegetable dishes and are open 12 - 2PM and 6 - 10PM. Whenever I hung out with him we always found some great places to eat in Taipei, Indian or otherwise, (usually otherwise), but trust me there are authentic places serving Indian food in the heart of the city if you are ready to pay for it...
