I am japanese american and even my chinese friends call it sticky rice. It is called Zongzi. Below is the Wikipedia explanation of the dish.

Hi, you're referring to 鑲夌步 (Rou Zong,) or as the respondent above me wrote, 绮藉瓙 (Zong Zi.) These are pyramid-shaped masses of steamed glutinous rice often mixed with pieces of meat, shitake, etc., or purely vegetarian, and wrapped in leaves. Please click on 1st & 2nd link.

And since we're on the subject of Zong Zi, this delicacy is traditionally eaten during the Duanwu Festival (绔崍绡€, Duanwu Jie.) To the Western world, this festival is better known as the Dragon Boat Festival, observed on the fifth day of the fifth month of the Chinese Calendar, otherwise known as the "Agricultural Calendar 杈叉泦 (Nongl矛)." Please see third link. In this Gregorian year of 2007, this date coincides with June 19, actually two days from now. And yes, this coming Tuesday is a holiday here in Taiwan.
