Travel Info When are Taiwan schools' holidays and Taiwan's summer period? Travel Tips In Taiwan, every saturday and sunday are the weekend,days off. Holidays or specific event day off: (1)New year: Every year on January 1st. (2)Chinese lunar new year(鏂板勾): Usually in solar calendar in January or in February every year, depends on lunar calendar, sometimes there're several days off maybe 5 days or more. (3)228 peace memorial day(228 鍜屽钩绱€蹇垫棩): Every year on Feb.28th. (4)Tomb sweeping day(姘戞棌鎺冨绡€): Every year on April 5th. Have to sweep and clean ancestor's tomb,usually 1 or 2 days off ,depends on Taiwanese government's arrange. (5)Labour's day(鍕炲伐绡€): Every year on May 1st. Day off. (6)Dragon boat festival(绔崍绡€) : Usually every year in June,depends on the lunar calendar. (Lunar calendar is on May 5th every year) (7)Mid Authum festival(涓绡€): Usually in september in solar calendar. (Lunar calendar is on August 15th every year) (8) Double Ten's day(National's day): Day off every year on October 10th. There are some other specific day used had day off before, but now just memory no more day off. For school (from elementary school up), summer vacation is always from begining of July to end of August, but for college or university sometimes longer than 2 months, depends on school. In Taiwan, summer time is always hot and humidity around whole island, in the north of Taiwan,maybe from May or June starting feel hot every year. From middle Taiwan to south maybe starting from April.Summer is lasting to end of september. Others It is not easy to understand what you want to know... You mean schools' holidays of kindergarten? elementary? junior high? senior high? or university? Actually, to every student, basic summer vacation is July and August! But how long and when it start and finish is depend on school. For example, my school ( Fu Jen ) next week start summer vacation until September 18.
