Travel Info In Taiwan, would be easy to find a job speaking english and portuguese as I do? Any job? Travel Tips Yes. I live here already more than 4 years. Came here with no plans. In the beginning it was a little bit hard to find, because everything is new and you don't know were to start. If you got into it, it get easier and easier. I live in Taichung. Not that much to do as in Taipei, but the weather is great, not as big as Taipei and easier to find a job. Most foreigners鈥?head for Taipei and the al want a job and than you are coming as a not native speaker. So the more south you go the easier to get a job. My advice: go quick to the foreign hang around spots, maybe they can help you with a job. Or go around and go to all the gram schools and kindergartens with your CV and give them your information, if they need someone they will call you. The best time to come is with Chinese new year or the summer holidays, because that is mostly the time they need a new teacher. How about your visa? As a not native English speaker you can not get a ARC (alien resident certificate). So to stay longer you have make sure you get an extendable visa. After you arrive you have the go to Chinese class. With the papers of this you have to go to the foreign police head office and you can extend another 4 months. After this you have to leave the country to get a new visa. Go on the internet, and you will see plenty of ads for English teachers. I don't think there is much of a market for Portuguese, however.
